When we pray daily makes us to develop a spiritual rhythm within us. A discipline of prayer changes the way of negative thoughts in our lives, because it changes our habits of heart and mind. Prayer changes us more deeply to the transforming grace of God. And makes us enter into God’s presence, allowing the Holy Spirit to pray in us.

Millions of people of every age pray every day a child or adult. God hears every prayer but not all the prayers are answered in the way we are expected. But we all do not pray that his will to be done in our lives. Prayer is discipline – like sowing seeds for garden– keeping fit – like being on a diet. So don’t give up to pray! No prayer, worthless and waste.
When should I pray?
Generally, a time period for prayer has been morning and evening, however you can choose a best time suitable for you which gives you peace and quiet time to pray and spend time for yourself.
What do I need?
You might select a quite peaceful place to pray. You might also place an open Bible to read, a cross, a candle, picture, to give the time to pray and special significance.
You don’t have to know any lengthy prayers if you willing to pray – actually, words from prayers can often get in the way regularly. But if you write down or memorize some prayers which speak to you, truly the Lord’s Prayer. You could make a collection of prayers and sayings and keep a note. Or you could also use a different collection of prayers such as Pocket Prayers or Words for Worship.
Do I have to kneel?
Kneeling down is the conventional position for repentance and for praising, but you can pray wherever you are while walking, standing, sitting, working whatever you do according to your comfort.
Sometimes we also have a need of offering ‘arrow prayers’, asking for God’s prompt help in a critical situation. But we do not show any gratitude for what we have we don’t live all our lives in moments of extreme crisis. What about our day-to-day praying?
Use your hand as a model
Each finger of our hand bring to mind different things to pray.
Thumb finger is the strongest digit on your hand. Give thanks for all the strong things happened in your life, like home, family, and relationships that supporting and sustain you.
- Index finger
Index finger or pointing finger. To pray for all the people and things in your life who guide and help you. Whoever like friends, teachers, doctors, nurses, emergency services and so on.
- Middle finger
Middle finger is the tallest finger. To pray for all the important people who are governing , like world leaders and their governments, members of parliament and local councilor.
- Ring finger
the weakest finger on your hand is ring finger. It can’t do much by itself. You have to remember the poor, the weak, the homeless, the hungry, the sick, the ill and the bereaved.
- Little finger
Little finger is to pray for yourself as it is the smallest and the last finger on your hand.
